Beyond the Brochure: An OT's Insight Into Senior Living Decisions
For more than 23 years, I have worked as a licensed Occupational Therapist in homes, assisted living communities, memory care facilities, and skilled nursing homes. That experience has taught me that aging is deeply personal. The right answer for one family may be entirely different for another.
I help families make informed decisions about senior living and care, not by reading brochures, but having worked with hundreds of families and seen firsthand all the ways that individual choices change mobility, safety and quality of life. Over the years, I have been part of exceptional communities where residents are engaged, supported, and treated with kindness. I have also spent time in settings where people were simply passing the hours, and basic needs were not met as quickly as they should have been. Both experiences shape the way I evaluate every option I recommend.
I provide personalized guidance based on each family's needs, values, budget, and goals. That might mean finding the right senior living community, or it might mean exploring ways a loved one can stay safely at home a little longer. I help families narrow options, coordinate tours, and compare choices so decisions are made with clarity, confidence, and on the family's timeline.
My role is not to place a family in a community. My role is to walk beside them until they find a solution that truly supports their needs and enhances their daily life.
